So if it’s a carriage, where’s the horse?

Odd juxtaposition of news items.  On the one hand U.S. regulators are moving to ban smokeless electronic cigarettes on airplanes.  Meanwhile the Sunday Times Magazine prints a rant against coffeeshops that discourage the use of Kindles and iPads.  So you’re not allowed to smoke something that’s fundamentally different from a cigarette because it looks like one, and you’re not allowed to read something that’s essentially the same as a book because it doesn’t look like one.
