This comes from a review of three new biographies about George Orwell where Eagleton presents Orwell as an example of the former extreme and Jacques Derrida as an example of the latter. I suppose in practice this advice may amount to little more than vacuous difference-splitting, but what top-notch difference-splitting it is.
